Recreational areas such as these parks are relatively inexpensive or free and may provide
the only "wilderness and outdoor" experience for some including those that are financially disadvantaged. Healthy recreational areas provide a resource to reduce health disparities that
exist between the classes, age groups and populations. It is in our best interest economically and socially to provide for their viability and upkeep or in the end -- it is every individual that suffers the financial consequences such higher costs associated with more healthcare.
